LAN Gaming
Who We Are
Jacksonville Gamers is an organized gaming community in which gamers of all kind and like come together. We have been hosting and attending LAN parties all around the state and have now come to start making our LAN’s on a larger scale. Officially founded in October of 2007 we strive to make your gaming experience at our LAN parties to be the best possible. A lot of our community was founded just like any other community, through the internet and gaming. The best way to explain Jacksonville Gamers is to say we are a group of gamers of all kinds that like to get together, play competitively, and above all have fun! We also are periodically invited to host our LANs at various conventions around the state. We are always looking for a fun time and more people to game with on our servers and at the LANs themselves. www.JaxGamers.com has been operational for almost 2 years now (at time of convention) and we are going strong, we hope to always be a part of Ancient City Con as it grows and prospers!
Where We Are
Jacksonville Gamers has moved from the typical household LANs to the larger scale LANs that we host today. We typically find a hotel or other venue of some sort that can accommodate all of us. Every time we have a LAN it is a memorable experience that can be seen on everyone’s face and demeanor at the LANs. Now we also do conventions such as Ancient City Con every year and provide our small LAN style and apply it to a convention atmosphere. There could be a dog playing Unreal Tournament 2004 or even a witch! Adding the convention to our long list and history of events makes it just that more fun.
What We Bring
What Jacksonville Gamers brings to Ancient City Con is a great gamer atmosphere as well as a state of the art network with gigabit backbones for lightning speed connections. We bring the gift of computers, Jacksonville Gamers will be bringing six(6) state of the art computers for rent on an hourly or daily basis so that anyone that is enjoying the convention can play at any time. We will be hosting not only game tournaments for various prizes but also will be hosting a “How to build a computer” seminar towards the latter half of Saturdays events.
What You Bring
Jacksonville Gamers is typically a BYOC LAN, which means you will need to bring most of your own equipment. We provide a low-latency professionally managed network (with a full gigabit backbone), tables, chairs, network cables and most of the power (if you plan on hooking a multitude of extra peripherals then please bring your own). You supply the computer, monitor, keyboard, mouse and any other cables you might need.
Thank You,
William Tetsworth
