Convention Rules

For the safety and enjoyment of everyone, please follow these rules while attending Ancient City Con. If you see anyone breaking any of these rules, please report them immediately to one of our staff members. Violators may be asked to leave without refund of admission, and in some cases, be banned from future conventions.
ALCOHOL & DRUGS
Alcoholic drinks of any kind are not permitted in any of the convention areas. Any person deemed to be under the influence of alcohol or impaired by drugs will be asked to leave the convention without refund of their admission and will be banned from future conventions.
ATTIRE
Footwear and shirts are required throughout the hotel and the convention area. If you plan on wearing a costume or bringing a prop, please also read the Costuming & Prop Policy. We require that all attendees wear proper clothing including shirts and shoes. This includes the patio areas near the convention area. Indecent exposure is grounds for immediate expulsion from the convention. Ancient City Con convention staff may, at their sole discretion, ask you to change your attire if you are not complying with this policy. All costumes, outfits and props will be subject to approval at convention Registration. All props and weapons must be marked for approval in order to carry them at the convention. While in the convention areas, please be reasonable and use common sense in your dress & attire.
ATTITUDE
Any behavior that is deemed by convention Staff members to be abusive, disruptive, harassing, offensive, or threatening will not be tolerated. You will be asked to leave the convention and hotel if you fail to stop.
BADGES
Your convention badge must be visible on your person at all times. All game masters are required to check for player’s badges before beginning their game sessions. If you are found without a badge on your person, you will be asked to purchase another badge or leave the convention areas.
CHEATING
Cheating is absolutely unacceptable! Anyone caught cheating will be asked to leave and will be banned from future conventions.
HOTEL ROOMS
Hotel room limits are usually 2 per each bed in the room. You must ask permission from the hotel for additional occupants. You must adhere to the all of the hotel’s policies and procedures regarding room rental. The renter is responsible for all damage and clean-up costs that may occur in their room. Remember that hotel personnel may spot check your room at any time. Please refrain from using hotel towels when removing cosmetics.
FLYERS & PROMOTIONAL MATERIALS
Ancient City Con does allow the distribution of flyers and any other promotional through the convention’s “Free Stuff” table. Materials may be mailed to the convention even if a representative is not present.
LIABILITY
Ancient City Con, it’s staff and it’s affiliates are not responsible for any personal or property loss, damage, theft, injury or death that occurs during the convention. Attendees are wholly responsible for their individual actions and any repercussions that may result in civil or medical emergencies will be handled by the appropriate public agencies.
LOST & FOUND
Any lost items or unattended parcels will be taken to our Lost & Found department at registration. Questions regarding lost or misplaced items should be directed to staff members at Registration.
MINORS
An adult, who must also be a paid convention attendee, must accompany all children age 10 and under. Children age 5 and under are admitted to the convention for Free.
NOISE LEVEL
Please be considerate of your fellow convention goers and the regular hotel patrons by not being too loud during the various convention activities.
PHOTOGRAPHY
Many people are very “camera shy”. Please be considerate of others before taking a snapshot by asking first. It’s always a good idea to get subject’s permission as well if your intention is to later post that picture to a website.
PRE-REGISTRATION DEADLINE
Pre registration ends on 07/19/2008. All pre-registered admissions, dealer space registrations, program ads, game master registrations, panel registrations, & t-shirt pre-orders MUST be received before this date.
SALES
Ancient City Con reserves the right to refuse sale of admission, advertising, and dealer space at the sole discretion of it’s staff members.
SMOKING
Smoking is prohibited inside the hotel. Please step outside and use the hotel’s designated smoking areas.
TRASH
If you see any trash, please pick it up and dispose of it in a waste container. Help us keep the convention and hotel areas clean so that it will be available for future years to come. Try to leave an area you have used in better condition than you found it.
